Celebrate the city: Providence Bridge Pedal returns to Portland for its 25th year

Who doesn’t love Providence Bridge Pedal? After the annual event was cancelled last year during the COVID-19 pandemic, I was delighted to share the news that this event is ON for 2021.

‘After all the trauma of the last year, with COVID-19 and demonstrations, Providence Bridge Pedal has really become a celebration of Portland,’ said Rick Bauman, event director for Providence Bridge Pedal. ‘We think it’s high time we celebrate the city, its bridges, and the river.’

Although the event was cancelled in 2020 due to the pandemic, Bauman remarked that last year was “off the charts” for bike sales in the Portland area. Providence Bridge Pedal organizers anticipate seeing new faces show up to experience this year’s event for the first time.
