Top Workplaces 2020: Estacada School District Adapts to Support Staff and Community Needs

Despite the unusual circumstances and ongoing uncertainty of 2020, Estacada School District was named a winner in this year’s Top Workplaces competition, highlighting the strong measures the district has taken to support its staff and the families it serves. With the onslaught of Oregon wildfires affecting the region, Estacada Schools continued to show up for its community in unprecedented ways.

The Clackamas Country district, which includes two elementary schools, a middle school, a high school, and a charter school, serves over 3,800 students. Last spring, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 240 employees within the Estacada School District pivoted rapidly to online instruction, ahead of the Oregon state mandate. Many credited the swift response of Estacada Schools leadership for making the transition to virtual learning smoother than what was reported in other districts…
